Does your Web site support your marketing strategy? In many ways the Web site is the ultimate marketing tool. Unlike advertising, in which you’re limited to short, simple messages, your Web site can include more complete information. Be sure, however, that the main message about your product, company or organization is consistent with the rest of your marketing campaign. Do you have the right image to support your positioning? Are you consistent in the use of your logo, colors, and tag line? Are you trying to be professional or hip, serious or fun? Whatever your desired image, make the design and layout of your site fit your organization’s objectives. Seagate just released their new Barracuda 1TB hard drive. Hard drive capacities over the last five years have increased exponentially. This is due mostly to advances in platter densities, the latest advance is a technique called perpendicular recording which writes data to the disk vertically. This increases the amount of data that can be written tenfold or better. In addition to capacity advances there has been significant development in transfer speeds with the SATA interface and flash memory prices have dropped considerably allowing for large fast caching right on the disk.

Ask.com brings new dimension to search results

OAKLAND, Calif. - Internet search engine Ask.com has been chasing market leader Google Inc. for years without making much headway, but that hasn’t deterred its engineers from trying to set the pace for innovation. Ask will launch a new user interface for their search engine consisting of three vertical panes replacing the typical one column of results.
