Yesterday, Google announced its newest breakthrough for mobile phone technology. The new tool called “App Inventor” allows anyone to create applications for Google’s Android mobile platform, even people who have zero programming experience.

BridgeWorks Creative launched Broderick Group last week. Broderick Group is one of the largest Commercial Real Estate Companies in the Greater Seattle area. They specialize in Landlord Representation, Tenant Representation, and User / Investment sales for some of the largest companies in that area. They work with companies from Nintendo USA, Hines Real Estate, NordStrom, Pokemon, and many more.
BridgeWorks Creative created a unique and original design that portrayed the professionalism and image of Broderick Group in the Greater Seattle area. They also completed a custom Available Property front end and back end system that is both user friendly for the consumers and admin.
Broderick Group can now send companies to their website and have them search in an organized manner with the Available Properties search tool, or research Broderick Group and their Brokers.

A new version of the open source eccom platform Magento has been released, version 1.1.7. The new release addresses 350 individual bugs/issues. The major highlights are: Google Website Optimizer integration, Google Base integration, and Scheduled DB logs cleaning option. There were quite a few other minor fixes that were big issues so we are happy to see the platform evolving and being refined.
Anymore, web design and development is a balancing act between making your site as interactive and user friendly as possible while still satisfying the search engine’s needs. Search engines require static URLs for every bit of content on the website. If you cannot type in the URL and get to the content you are looking for neither can search engines. At Bridgeworks, we use a unique methodogy that is a mixture of PHP and AJAX that satisfies both parties.

A new medium for viral infection is being utilized, PDFs. PDFs (Portable Document Format) are widely used in the business world and all over the web for many uses. PDFs work well because the author can restrict viewers from changing the document or can give them permission to fill in specific fields. Earlier this month Google released a browser named Chrome. The intent of Chrome is to meet the needs of today’s rich internet applications and to work safely with all the malware that is on websites. To achieve this they integrated a new javascript engine called V8 produced by a team in Europe. The new Javascript engine is approximately twice as fast as that in Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Safari. The reasoning for this is to make web applications faster and work more like software installed on your computer. (more…)
The newest iteration of Mozilla’s Firefox browser has been released to developers as a beta. The new version has better settings management, such as bookmarks and passwords. There have also been javascript engine improvements which supposedly have increased the speed of online web applications like gmail and other ajax based web apps. We’ll see how well it works.
